Dr Carl Richard Lepsius (1810-1884) was a pioneering Prussian Egyptologist. In 1842 he was appointed to lead an archaeological expedition to Egypt and Sudan to record ancient monuments. This translation, first published in 1852, contains 40 reports written by Lepsius during the three years the expedition spent in Egypt.
