This manuscript covers engineering, underwater civilization design, and space travel, cosmology, moon engineering, alongside the educational, mathematical framework behind them. Rather than presenting equations in isolation, it teaches them as tools for understanding the innovations they make possible. The manuscript is illustrated with original diagrams and graphs, and it introduces a new mathematical framework intended to make complex ideas accessible to a general reader. The innovations and approach are original to this work.
My aim with this book is to communicate the ideas while educating the reader/student in mathematics.
Brief description of step one of my math education framework.
The number is 7,200 kilometers per second. That is how fast a Solar Magnetic Effect Lens spacecraft travels after one year of continuous thrust at magnification 50. It is 2.4 percent of the speed of light. It was calculated using five math operations ? the same five you already know. By the time the chapters begin, you will know exactly how that number was produced and exactly how to check it. Five tools. That is the complete list. Not calculus. Not algebra with unknowns stacked three levels high. Five operations you can do on any calculator, in any order, one step at a time. Here they are, completely, before anything else asks you to use them. 1. Scientific Notation ? Because the Universe Doesn't Fit on One Line The distance to Alpha Centauri is 41,000,000,000,000,000 meters. The mass of a hydrogen atom is 0.00000000000000000000000000167 kilograms. You cannot work with numbers like that written out in full ? you will lose a zero, lose your place, and lose confidence in the answer. Scientific notation solves all three problems at once. You write the number short ? always between 1 and 10 ? and then write a power of ten that says how far the decimal moves to get to the real value. 4.1 × 10¹⁶ m ? the distance to Alpha Centauri ? 41.
