Talhí Briones is a Chilean-born writer, artist, and graphic designer who grew up in Montréal. Her work centres diverse characters and creates the kinds of stories she wished she could have read when she was younger. Her previous books include the fantasy novel Hieroglyphs: The Celestial Conspiracies and the graphic novel Emmanuel Just Wants to Die, which she illustrated and co-authored. When she is not writing or designing, she works in the company of two birds who occasionally contribute their own edits by walking across her keyboard.
