Shirley Lee Baldwin is a native Virginian who graduated from the University of Virginia. Her middle-grade series, Feathers, Treasures & Sandy Paws, captures the charm of small-town life where friendship, kindness, and adventure are life's greatest treasures. Raised in a multigenerational household, Shirley grew up listening to stories from family members whose memories stretched from the Great Depression and World War II to the cultural transformations of the 1960s. Family folklore and inspiring teachers sparked her passion for storytelling at an early age. Her love of travel led to a twenty-year international career that took her to countries once hidden behind the Iron Curtain, regions where safaris began at her doorstep, and colorful gateways to the majestic Himalayas. Today, she lives in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, where she continues to create stories inspired by imagination, adventure, and the timeless joy of friendship.
