Richard Susskind CBE KC (HON) is widely recognized as the world's leading authority on the future of law and legal technology. In the mid-1980s, he wrote his doctorate on law and artificial intelligence at Balliol College Oxford, and went on to co-develop the world's first full-scale AI system for lawyers. From 1998 to 2023, he served as Technology Adviser to the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales. He is President of the Society for Computers and Law. He is the author of eleven books and his work has been translated into 25 languages. Professor Susskind is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and of the British Computer Society, and he has received three national honours: CBE, OBE, and KC (Hon).
