KATRINA Z. S. SCHWARTZ is an interdisciplinary social scientist specializing in environmental politics and (post)Soviet politics. Her first book, Nature and National Identity after Communism, was awarded the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies 2006-2007 Book Prize. She has published articles in Environmental Politics, Political Geography, and Environment and Planning A, as well as a coauthored paper in Science. Schwartz has taught at Penn State University and the University of Florida. She lives in Durham, North Carolina.
