You no doubt aspire, dear reader, to a successful life-not necessarily to succeed in life in the conventional sense, but to lead a good and happy existence. Throughout history and across the world, men and women have shared this aspiration and have worked to bring it about. All believe that what gives meaning to our lives is growing in humanity. For my part, I am convinced that this philosophical ideal of wisdom remains more relevant than ever, for we are not on earth merely to ensure our material security, to be entertained, and to consume.
How can we be ourselves and live in harmony with the world? Become more loving and virtuous? Find the path to inner liberation? Grow in joy and attain serenity? These are some of the questions to which Frédéric Lenoir-himself in search of wisdom since adolescence-responds with sincerity and simplicity. He leads us in his footsteps along the paths traced by his sources of inspiration, such as Epicurus, Epictetus, the Buddha, Zhuangzi, Montaigne, Spinoza, and Etty Hillesum, even drawing inspiration from the wisdom of children.
A luminous and profound book, like wisdom itself.
