Two-and-a-half years into the Sundering, the Pearl Realm is not all that's crumbling. The recent drastic, unprecedented step in Sparrow's Spellkeeper sequence has left him with constant pain and a loss of independence. The thought of spending the next three years being constantly supervised, unable to even pick up his daughters, has him struggling not to lash out at his chosen family.
