Sarah-Elizabeth Dean started writing at the age of twelve with fanfiction. They were raised in a small town in North Georgia and grew up with Cerebral Palsy. When they're not writing, they're doing genealogy and reading books for ideas and inspiration.

Alexis "Lexi" Hofden is a Deaf eighteen-year-old girl celebrating the 4th of July with her family in Phoenix, Arizona. Everything changes when they see a mushroom cloud in the direction of Los Angeles. Lexi is forced to walk back home alongside her boyfriend and younger brother. Along the way, she meets friends, foes, and several dangers, but nothing gets in her way of getting back home.
