Susan Gooch, author of The Carrington Affairs, is a lifelong lover of romance, history, and great storytelling—in books, movies, and everyday life. An Arkansas native and proud Southern girl, she’s passionate about sweet tea, warm weather, and her hometown of Searcy, which inspired the setting for her novels. After a decades-long career as an English teacher and literacy advocate, she now writes full-time, crafting stories rooted in heart, family, and self-discovery. Married to her high school sweetheart for nearly forty years, Susan is a devoted wife, mother of three, and “Mimi” to four adored granddaughters. A voracious reader who devours over two hundred books a year, she shares her favorite finds through her “Y’all Have Got To Read This” feature on Instagram. Though she’s lived around the world, her happy place is at home—in pajamas, book in hand, dreaming up her next great love story.
