Photography, or (photography), is a relatively new art and a comprehensive science, born from the combination of fine arts and modern technology. As with any science or discipline, it has its own terminology and structures that have emerged and evolved over the years. Since photography originated and flourished in the embrace of Western civilization, it was only natural that its terminology and structures would be in the language and dialect of its people. With the growing number of people interested in photography-in our Arab world-as a fine art, it has become imperative that we take a fundamental step in this field: publishing an Arabic dictionary of the terminology of this art. This dictionary will serve as a foundation upon which we can build and develop it in the future, and ensure that the Arabic language has a strong and consistent presence in this wonderful creative field.
