Alexander Paul Burton is a British-Canadian writer, composer, and interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections of identity, memory, and myth. Born in the rural heart of Somerset and now based in Toronto, Alex creates across genres and disciplines-from neoclassical piano compositions and electronic music to expansive fantasy novels and comedic philosophical memoirs. His writing is often infused with nostalgia, natural landscapes, and queer identity, shaped by a lifelong fascination with history, language, and storytelling. His latest literary work, The Hollow Vale, is a mythic fantasy inspired by the collapse of Roman Britain, complete with a fully constructed language and a growing collection of companion tales. Meanwhile, his ongoing memoir series, #MillennialTruths, offers a sharp-witted take on modern life, resilience, and reinvention. As a musician, Alex blends baroque influences with contemporary soundscapes. His EP Crossing Borders: Songs of Home and Belonging, supported by the Ontario Arts Council, reflects his journey through displacement, queerness, and artistic discovery. He is also the founder of the OUTLINE Awards, which celebrate and uplift emerging LGBTQ+ musicians in Ontario.Alex has worked in humanitarian nonprofits, run a vegan catering business in London, and once lived on a Japanese farm. When not writing or composing, he's usually out cycling, hiking with his rescue corgi Amelia, or enjoying a quiet patio moment with his partner, Peter. To explore his work and wanderings, visit alexanderpaulburton.com.
