A Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Council on Foreign Relations and the recipient of the DMZ Peace Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and numerous academic awards, he holds honorary degrees from the Universities of Groningen and Haifa.
Alastair Smith is the Bernhardt Denmark Chair of International Politics and a Professor in the Department of Politics at New York University.
