Amber Gayle is a Southeast Asian illustrator in Ohio with a passion for bringing colorful and expressive characters to life. She is a children's book illustrator and background artist. Manuel Román-Lacayo is a Nicaraguan American cultural heritage expert who has visited nearly every country in the Americas as a researcher and consultant. Having lived in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, he loves tortillas, gallo pinto, and champurradas. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, two sons, and a bunch of bicycles.
