The story of Ethelene de Roys, a young dancer from a noble family. Despite the family's declining fortunes, Ethelene refuses to give up her love of dance. When a traditional dance studio turns her down due to financial difficulties, she finds hope at a community dance centre. Her journey to find funding to save the dance centre from closing sees her meet Leonard von Strauss, a wealthy German patron of the arts.
