"The Archimedes Loop" tells the story of Harold Jones, a quiet programmer from the small town of Maple Creek who lives a solitary life, his only friend being Carl Slagbäck in Sweden, with whom he communicates through their private social platform. Harold's life changes dramatically when he receives a mysterious package containing a time travel device and instructions to meet Archimedes in ancient Syracuse.
Initially skeptical, Harold eventually travels to Syracuse where he meets Archimedes and helps him understand modern physics and electronics. Together, they develop what they call "flux theory," explaining how time travel works through quantum mechanics and neural interfaces.
