The author recalls and puts into an interesting writing style his early life both as a developing young man, dealing with life in part by turning to flying as an escape, and the experiences he saw and had as a military pilot. He puts his experiences into context as to what was happening around him on a national and world scale. This in a time that most of us did not know or do not remember.
