Thimphu, Bhutan, Nagarkot, Nepal, and Pattaya, Thailand, are not household names, but that's the beauty of it all, to go where the general population do not venture. Saying that, soaking up the culture in Turkey's Istanbul, discovering the way of life in Myanmar's capital city, and going far away from it all to a sublime remote island in the Maldives, adds to a mixed bag cultural experiences.
