BEYOND THE BEGINNING

A chance sighting on a scuba dive puts one mermaid on a collision course with a trillionaire industrialist who recognized her on land. He surprised her by not exposing her secret but instead offered her and her friends jobs on a secret project-a fabulous underwater city! There they could put their extraordinary aquatic abilities to use in underwater research and many more fantastic adventures.

When the trillionaire and his partner, a world-renowned oceanographer, begin allowing scientists from outside to visit the city, the five are brought face to face with an investigator of mermaid sightings-Prof. Roland Porter. For help, they turn to a name they remembered the Channel Islands Colony mentioning, Drs. David and Marlene McAllister, who work for the oceanographer's institute and are mer people themselves.

The two introduce them to others in their circle and form a friendship that would lead to further adventures for them and the Channel Islands mermaids and

mermen.
