"Daisy The Diabetic Donkey" written by Jessica Lewis is an exceptional Type 1 Diabetes learning tool aimed towards helping newly diagnosed children and their care team to understand what this new lifestyle may entail, helping all to adapt to a new routine. Jess lives in the beautiful Keystone state with her two daughters. She has been a pediatric home health nurse for five years, assisting children with specialized needs to navigate unique routines every day; making them as fun-filled as possible! Jess has a med-surg hospital background as well as a pediatric nursing background. She enjoys quality time spent with her daughters and writing in her free time. As a mother, Jess empathizes with the importance of children feeling accepted, no matter how dissimilar their lives be.
