SIMONE CELINE MARSHALL is Professor of English at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Her research explores Geoffrey Chaucer, medieval literature, and the reception of authors across time. She has published widely on fifteenth-century women writers and Chaucer's influence, and her recent work focuses on Chaucer's cultural afterlives, particularly in postcolonial contexts.
