TOHBY RIDDLE is the creator of numerous wellloved picture books, two cartoon collections and a novel. He also collaborated (as the illustrator) with Ursula Dubosarsky on The Word Spy and The Return of the Word Spy , both award-winning books about the English language. Originally trained in art and architecture, he has received awards for literature and book design and worked for some years fulltime as an editor. The Greatest Gatsby is a result of his ongoing love of words, images and visual information. Tohby lives with his wife and three children in Katoomba, Blue Mountains, Australia.
