Gary is retired after a long working career in a range of settings, the last seventeen years as a social worker. He grew up in what could be termed a dysfunctional family, with physical violence not only in the home but all throughout his schooling years. Unable to work now due to medical injuries he is beginning a career as an author and writer to support his wife, mother, children and grandchildren. Misses being able to shoot and hunt in the Australian outback along with many other hobbies linked to his Indigenous heritage.
