Zusammenfassung
'Ma is white, whero is red.' Learning colours is fun and interactive with this classic Kiwi tune with Maori vocabulary.

The iconic Kiwi song, Ma is White, is given the Donovan Bixley treatment and made into a wonderful first board book. The book also includes additional colours not covered in the song, so readers can can expand their Maori vocabulary.

The latest two board books are my favourites in the collection so far. Taking known songs and adding NZ-style illustrations was pretty cool (there's no doubt he's incredibly talented), but these latest books are something I really value having on our shelves.

Donovan Bixley ONZM has sold hundreds of thousands of copies of his books in 31 countries and 18 languages, including te reo M¿ori. He has won awards for both his illustrating and writing and won the Children's Choice award in 2013. In 2021, he became an Officer of the Order of New Zealand. With over 100 books published, his unique style of illustration brings delight and joy to readers both young and old. He lives on the crater's edge of the greatest volcanic eruption in human history (also known as Lake Taupo, in New Zealand).

Music fills his spare time, alongside his wife and three daughters.
