In April 2011 Joseph was diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, a disease which affects, on average, only 25 infants a year in the UK. From the very beginning Joseph's Mother Celine felt compelled to document in graphic detail the peaks and troughs of the journey, not only to aid in her own diffusion but in the hope that it would prove to be a valuable reference for others facing a similar journey. For the Bowen family, losing Joseph was never even a remote possibility. Joseph's journey is a classic example of how a positive outlook can overcome the most difficult of predicaments. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to CLIC Sargent, Hannah's Appeal, The Joe Glover Trust, The Rainbow Trust, The Anthony Nolan Trust and Lucy's Day's Out. Without the support of these charities, the journey would have been a far more arduous one.
