A Fabulous Feline Focused on Romance

For a second, Troy thought the mellow guitar and mandolin music playing softly in the background had taken a turn toward jazz, with an oddly offbeat trill of some kind of organ.

Then something gave a firm push against his shin, and Troy realized he was being serenaded by an absolutely stunning black cat with long, silky hair and huge green eyes.

"Hello there," he said, squatting down with only a couple of creaks from his forty-two-year-old knees. "Are you the welcoming committee for local businesses today?"

The cat butted Troy's hand and sat, letting out another of those extended chirrups that really did sound like a rising and falling organ flourish. He happily stroked from her insistent head all the way down to her bushy, waving tail, grinning when she pushed her rear end up and turned in a tight circle to invite more pets.
